Shahid and Priyanka to sizzle 'break ke baad'?
Shahid and Priyanka to sizzle 'break ke baad'?
Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial
Looks like the adage of 'life coming back full circle' indeed holds true for Shahid Kapoor. He enjoyed a huge rom-com success in the form of JAB WE MET soon after he broke up with Kareena Kapoor. Now that is hoping for another smash success to bring him back in the reckoning in a big way, his pairing with Priyanka Chopra (another ex-girlfriend) could well prove lucky in TERE MERI KAHAANI.
"Isn't it a strange coincidence," quips an insider, "From one break up to another, Shahid is going through an eventful innings. What is all the more surprising is that his chemistry with the women he has been in love pretty much reflects on screen as well. He did JAB WE MET with Kareena when they were together and the results were there to be seen. On the other hand even though they were into a 'kabhi haan kabhi naa' relationship status during the beginning of TERI MERI KAHAANI, together Shahid and Priyanka are glowing on screen. Now this is what chemistry is all about."
Though Shahid and Priyanka never went on record about their togetherness, they have been in news ever since the making of KAMINEY. Sparks flew on screen during that film as well even though it was an action thriller. Their romance is said to have fizzled away over a period of time and for the last few months, Shahid has been enjoying his single status.
"In fact his birthday in Goa was pretty much an announcement of his bachelorhood, what with a bevy of beauties being invited for an extended bash. However all of this happened after he had finished shooting for TERI MERI KAHAANI. Looking at the promos of the film, it is clear that he shared great tuning with Priyanka during making of the film at the least," a film buff adds.
Well, going by some 'thanda' response that his pairing fetched in MAUSAM (Sonam Kapoor), CHANCE PE DANCE (Genelia D'Souza), DIL BOLE HADIPPA (Rani Mukerji) and KISMAT KONNECTION (Vidya Balan), one can well hope that it would be back to hot-n-sizzling all over again for Shahid and Priyanka, albeit 'break ke baad'!

Shahid Kapoor helps Nargis Fakhri
It's easy to make friends in Bollywood. But retaining those friendships is what seems a lot more challenging. Especially if it's between an actor and an actress.
Shahid Kapoor however seems to least care about rumours of him dating newbie Nargis Fakhri. Probably why he did not think twice before tending to the lady who needed some help after a long night of partying. Eyewitnesses confirm that they saw the actress throwing up in Kapoor's car, right outside his house.
Friend indeed
Says a source, "Shahid and Nargis have been hanging out with the same set of friends. They have been spotted partying a few times in the city, but this was probably one of the nights where they went a little overboard and Nargis started to feel a little unwell. Shahid however, the gentleman he is, did everything possible to make her feel comfortable."
Adds the source, "To some extent Shahid has become oblivious to the girls he gets linked up with. He really hit it off with Nargis ever since their stage performance at one of the award functions and he isn't going to stop talking to her just because there have been rumours about them dating."
Interestingly, Nargis has recently been quoted denying her relationship with Shahid. Says the source, "This isn't the first time Shahid has helped a female friend out. He has always been around even when Priyanka needed him. He's a dependable guy, at least when it comes to friends." Well, we wonder if that's what helps him score with the lovely ladies!

Teri Meri Kahaani is different: Kunal Kohli
Teri Meri Kahaani is different: Kunal Kohli
In the film, both Shahid and Priyanka will be seen in three different avatars over three time spans — 1910, 1960 and 2012, akin to Three Times, which features three separate love stories chronologically set in 1911, 1966 and 2005, with actors, Shu Qi and Chang Chen. The 2005 Taiwanese film was and won several awards.
However, Kohli says his film is different. “I have not seen the film (Three Times) to begin with, but someone told me about it while I was making the movie and I happened to read about it. But I would still say our film is completely different. It is just a coincidence,” he says.
“There is no similarity between the two films. Nowadays, if you want to remake a film, you just buy the rights and make the film. So, if I wanted to make Three Times, I would have bought the rights,” he adds.
Citing an example, Kohli says, “When I made Hum Tum, there was a Hollywood flick called Before Sunset that came six months after, and it had the exact opening as my film...where the guy has lost his love and he has released a book. The film starts with a press conference, where the lead actor talks about the love he lost, which is quite similar to my movie.”
As for the first trailer of Teri Meri Kahani, there seem to be a few sections that are somewhat similar to Shahid’s last film, Mausam, where the hero happens to meet the leading lady, actor Sonam Kapoor, in three different situations. But, according to Kohli, every love story has the basic element of love, meeting and parting ways in some way or the other.
“To meet and part ways is there in every love story, be it Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Fanna, Hum Tum, or, Veer Zaara. If you see any popular romantic film, it will have a love story that is all about meeting and parting. But what is different is how the lovers meet, and how they part ways. The treatment of this film is also different,” says Kohli.

Shahid Kapoor Priyanka Chopras Teri Meri Kahaani First Look and Trailer
timeless love story’, the film depicts the three eras of love stories from 1910 to 2012 and the poster very clearly showcases Shahid and Priyanka’s look in the three eras. The film will also feature Neha Sharma and Prachi Desai. According to the sources, Neha will be playing the role of Shahid’s love of 2011 in which she plays an urban contemporary modern girl with grey shades to her character. She is very excited about her role in the film.
The trailer of the film has already set the expectations high. There has been some real good work done in making the poster in which both Shahid and Priyanka are looking wonderful. The sizzling chemistry of the two has been liked by the audience in the film Kaminey earlier. The film is expected to hit theatres in the month of June.
Check out the trailer of the film

Shahid Kapoor set for rugged action
Shahid Kapoor set for rugged action
He has largely been known as the chocolate boy in Bollywood. But Shahid Kapoor is set to undergo a transformation for UTV’s Hindi remake of the Tamil action venture, Vettai. Released this January, The Arya-R Madhavan starrer was produced by the same banner. Shahid is likely to play the part
originally portrayed by Arya.
When contacted, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, UTV Motion Pictures’ CEO confirms: “Yes, we are in advanced discussions with Shahid, but till we make a formal announcement, I wouldn’t like to say much about the cast.” N Lingusamy will apparently direct the Hindi remake too, while Madhavan may also reprise his role.
Vettai revolves around two brothers — the younger one played by Arya, and the older, by Madhavan. While the latter is sensitive to violence, Arya is a jobless rogue. After being beaten up by goons, Madhavan becomes stronger, thanks to the training he receives from his younger brother. The two then get back at two goons and protect their family.
“Vettai is essentially an action film, but like other south Indian films, it also has a dose of masala entertainment including humour, stunts, dance, songs and romance. But in terms of genre, it’s an action – rough and rugged kind – film,” says Kapoor, adding that the production house has had a “fantastic start” to 2012. “The last few months have been very good for us.
Starting with Vettai, our big release on Pongal, we have had a great run with Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, and now, Paan Singh Tomar,” he says, adding, “Everything boils down to making the right creative choices. Thankfully, we’ve managed to do it.”

Two heroines for Shahid Kapoor
The makers of the actor's next rom-com are apparently looking for two new faces opposite him
The makers of Shahid Kapoor's next are not just looking for one but two new girls opposite the actor.
After launching Anushka Sharma in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Aditya Chopra has decided to cast new faces in the Maneesh Sharma rom-com that starts later this August.
According to sources associated with the movie, the Chopras are on the look out for two, very diverse girls.
"Keeping in mind the kind of story it is, with two female leads, the Chopras want to ensure that the casting is right.
More so because one is a sizzling, oomphy girl while the other is a demure damsel," reveals our source associated with the movie. Considering that Maneesh is currently recuperating from a slipped disc and has been advised rest for a few months, the shoot is scheduled to start only in August.
"So the team has considerable time to shortlist the probable girls before the Chopras and Maneesh take the final call," says our source, adding that after finalising the female cast, the girls will also be groomed accordingly.
The spokesperson of Yashraj maintains, "Casting is still in progress and we're looking at all options. We will make an announcement when we finalise the cast."

Shahid Kapoor speaks his mind about Bipasha
Shahid Kapoor speaks his mind about Bipasha
The handsome actor has found a way to distract people from his uninteresting love life – by making bizarre and blunt statements
Shahid Kapoor has an opinion on everything nowadays it seems, with opinions that amuse us no end. At a recent event the actor said, “I like being used” when quizzed about his link-ups to Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma. Shortly after that he lashed out at the media for linking him with Anushka Sharma, saying, “There’s a limit to everything. I felt disgusted to read reports about a lady who comes from respected family.” Uh oh! But weren’t you liking it a while ago, Shak? The latest that caught our attention was Shahid’s verbal lashing out at his alleged ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu’s item number. Looks like our man vehemently disagrees with actors blurring the lines between their ‘real’ and ‘reel’ selves. “It’s very personal. I would be embarrassed by it but I am sure a lot of people will like it. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. I think in films we play different characters, so how could you have songs on your own name is beyond my logic,” he said at an event. But that’s Bipasha’s personal choice, no?
And Shahid, wethinks you aren’t really involved in it…or are you? Anyway, we would’ve continued to ponder the Mausam man’s comments and reasons related to them when the actor himself offered an explanation with “I’m unemployed,” and blamed it all on director Manish Sharma’s slipped disc that’s preventing his upcoming movie (Yash Raj Films next) from hitting the floors. Ah, so an empty mind becomes the devil’s workshop here, to blame for Shahid’s devilish remarks, is it? Dear Sasha, you can continue making quirky comments and blaming it all on others, but the question that begs to be asked is – how long before someone demands some answers from you?

Shahid Kapoor in Karan Johor's next film
Shahid Kapoor in Karan Johor's next film
Just as the actor lands his first KJo project with Punit Malhotra, his Mausam co-star officially walks out of it. Bad weather forecast? Shahid Kapoor's single status seems to be working in his favour, especially for his professional life. The actor was slated to work on his first Dharma Production in 2005 in Karan Johar's Kaal. But due to the cold war between his then girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and KJo, Shahid reportedly opted out of the venture.
However, Mumbai Mirror has learnt that the actor has got himself a second chance at being a part of the KJo camp. A source from the production house revealed that Shahid has been roped in to replace Imran Khan in Punit Malhotra's next.
According to the source, Imran opted out of the film as he wanted to focus on Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola. And so, Karan Johar and Malhotra decided to cast Shahid in the film.
The source added, "Previously, Shahid was supposed to be a part of Soham Singh's directorial venture, Kaal. But at the last moment, he backed out of the film. Shahid was with Kareena back then and since she had a tiff with KJo about his decision to cast Preity Zinta in Kal Ho Na Ho instead of her, Shahid opted out for the sake of solidarity. And since then, he hadn't been offered a role in a Dharma Production."
Despite repeated attempts, Shahid Kapoor remained unavailable for comments.
Meanwhile...
Her debut film I Hate Luv Storys, directed by Punit Malhotra, has been the only hit of her career till date. And so, the news of Sonam Kapoor no longer being a part of the director's next has stirred up a whirlwind of rumours. A source close to the developments revealed to Mumbai Mirror that with Shahid being brought on-board the film, KJo was reluctant to pair them up again after the reception Mausam received.
The source explained, "Shahid recently confirmed that he would be a part of the film. Once that was decided, Karan and the unit felt that Sonam should not be a part of the film, especially since their last film Mausam did not do well at the box-office. It was evident that their on-screen pairing did not work for the film and so, the makers did not want to repeat the same mistake. As a result, the filmmakers are in search of a new leading lady."
However, a friend of Sonam defended, "Sonam had opted out of the film a long time ago. Ever since Imran decided to concentrate on Vishal Bharadwaj's film, Sonam too opted out."

Shahid Kapoor saves Priyanka Chopra life
However Kunal denies that a near-stampede took place, "No, that's not true. There were no untoward incidents. Fortunately, we had the support of the local police and we had our own security. We definitely had to tighten the security to manage the crowds."

He rescues his ex girlfriend from a mob!
He rescues his ex girlfriend from a mob!
Being an on-again, off-again boyfriend to a pretty woman is a difficult job. Ask Shahid Kapoor. When the actors were in a relationship, he would constantly pretend that he was single and rubbish all rumours. He also had to carefully plan his amorous trysts with the former Miss World so that they wouldn’t be caught by the media’s roving eye. But despite their break-up, it seems Shahid has a huge soft spot for his former lady love. Or perhaps he was just playing the gallant knight in shining armour. Whatever be the reason, Shahid proved he truly cares about Priyanka when he protected her from a mob of over 30,000 fans recently!
According to an eyewitness, thousands of fans turned up at the Daulatabad Fort, where Shahid and Piggy Chops were both shooting for Kunal Kohli's upcoming film titled ‘Teri Meri Kahaani.’ As time passed, the crowd, anxious to catch a glimpse of the stars became so uncontrollable that it led to a stampede.
The source added that the setting of green hills, lakes, the historic fort and the presence of the young, charming actors resulted in a frenzy with over-eager fans trying to get close to the gorgeous Ms Chopra.
Priyanka started getting a bit jittery when Shahid, like a protective lover, swooped her up and took her away from the crowd. When director Kunal Kohli (‘Break Ke Baad,’ ‘Hum Tum’) was approached for comment he denied the incident altogether and said he was too busy filming the movie to notice anything that happened outside the sets.
Well we don’t know about Kunal but we do know one man who has his constant attention on Priyanka and is ready to put himself in harm’s way to keep her safe!

Supriya wants to marry Shahid Kapoor
Supriya wants to marry Shahid Kapoor
The world would come to an end on December 21, 2012! This is what the ancient Mayans would have us believe, having had predicted this thousands of years ago. Almost all scoff at such predictions and rightly so. However, there are some who harbour thoughts of what they would like to do before the end comes. Ludhiana, Times of India checks out the wish list of some Ludhianvis
Model Town: Owning a BMW, earning about Rs 50,000 in an MNC, marrying Shahid Kapoor and touring Australia and Canada in style are somethings Supriya Mahajan is hoping to do before doomsday. But that's not all, the 22-year-old also wants to use her final months - if the world were to after all end soon - educating villagers against child marriage.
Daughter of Arya Bhanu Mahajan, who is working with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), and school teacher Sumita, Supriya said she has never been to a village but it irritates her that girls are forced to dropout from school and get married. "If the world has to end in 2012, I want to make villagers around Ludhiana allow their daughters to study instead of marrying them off at very young age. History stands witness about the contribution of women in India's success story," she said.
On a whim, the Model Town-resident would love to marry Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor because he is cute, innocent and boyish. "I liked him in 'Vivah' and 'Mausam'. I like Imran Khan also but since he is already married he is off my list," said Supriya, quickly adding that she knows it's a wild desire and eventually she will marry the one her parents pick for her.
A student of masters in business management at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Supriya also wants to work with a company like Reliance and earn big bucks so that she can live life king size. BMW is her favourite brand of automobiles and she wishes to have one for herself before meeting doomsday. "It looks great and is comfortable inside. I would love to take my husband for a ride in the car,'' she said.
Going for luxury tours to Australia and Canada are also high on her list of things to do because she has heard a lot about the two countries' scenic beauty.

Shahid is Priyanka's 'teen janmon ka premi
Shahid is Priyanka's 'teen janmon ka premi
Abid, Glamsham Editorial
Normally we talk about 'saat janmon ka pyaar' (love of seven lives/birth) but in case of Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra it's a 'teen janmon ka pyaar' (love of three lives/birth)!
Well, if you think that we are indulging in third rate yellow journalism, you are wrong as your favourite site does not believe in that. So, please read on.
Actually we are talking about Kunal Kohli's yet untitled film starring Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. As per our sources, in Kunal's film Priyanka meets her lover, essayed by Shahid Kapoor, in three different lives ('janams'). So, as we had said it's a love of three lives between Shahid and Priyanka.
Well, that sure is an interesting concept and also explains the three looks of Shahid Kapoor in the pictures being circulated in the web world, and should also douse the curiosity of all those who were speculating about Kunal Kohli's film being a three generation story!
