Kareena Kapoor chooses Shahid over Hrithik and John
Kareena Kapoor chooses Shahid over Hrithik and John
However, after Saif flaunted his ‘Tashan’ and Kareena her lime-green bikini, a fresh love bloomed and Shahid got unceremoniously dumped. But you can’t prevent Kareena from being the candid gal that she is.
In ‘Koffee with Karan’, Kareena has hailed Shahid as the sexiest man. When Karan quizzed her asking her to name the sexiest actor from a list that included the names of the Greek God Hrithik, the cute Imran Khan, the macho Arjun Rampal and the dashing hunky John Abraham, Kareena confidently picked up Shahid’s name much to the surprise of beau Saif. Even Karan was stumped for once and Shahid must have had his heart in his mouth for one split second.
Kareena also took a jibe at Priyanka Chopra taunting her for her accent and calling her the number two actress after herself. Saif and Kareena lashed out their tongues and delighted Karan with more comments; something that is bound to stir the nation’s imagination. Earlier, the episode featuring Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone had also grabbed quite a few eyeballs.

Ranbir Kapoor not Shahid Kapoor in fray for role in Mira Nair next
Ranbir, not Shahid in fray for role in Mira Nair's next
Panaji, Nov 30 (IANS) US-based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair says she in talks with Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor for the role of Changez in her film "The Reluctant Fundamentalist".
"I am in touch with Ranbir for the role, but there are three other actors who are also in contention," she said, dismissing media reports that Shahid Kapoor was also in the fray for the role.
The film is aimed at dispelling the notion of Islamophobia, which has pre-occupied the West in the recent past.
Describing the film as an answer from the subcontinent to the American perspective on war and issues like Islam, Nair said: "The movie is about a dialogues between two friends in a cafe in Lahore, which presents a south Asia perspective of the war."
"There is the myth of Islamophobia which the West is obsessed with. We need to counter it. We need to speak about it," she added.
Nair also said that although the film was largely set in Lahore, Pakistan, it would be shot in India as well as New York and Chile.
"We have used actors from Asia and Latin America. We want to shoot for a few days in Pakistan. But the Lahore part has been shot in Delhi, because the cities have architectural similarities," she said.
The story takes place during the course of a single evening in an outdoor Lahore cafe, where a bearded Pakistani man called Changez tells a nervous American stranger about his love affair with and eventual abandonment of America.
The Orissa-born and Harvard educated director has directed several internationally renowned films like "Mississippi Masala", "Kama Sutra" and "The Namesake".
Her 1988 film "Salaam Bombay", based on the lives of street children, was nominated for an Academy Awards in the best foreign film category that year.

I do not know why I am alone 'मुझे नहीं पता, क्यों हूं अकेला' Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is on the verge of signing Shoojit Sirca
Shahid Kapoor is on the verge of signing Shoojit Sircar’s (of Yahaan) film. A source informs, “The two have had numerous meetings recently and have bonded well.
Both are on the same page and have apparently locked a project together.” Shoojit didn’t deny his meetings with Shahid, but he maintained a diplomatic stance.
“Yes we have met a couple of times. If something works out, it will happen only after Mausam.” The long delay of his film, Shoebite, hasn’t dampened Sircar’s spirits though, “I have seven scripts ready and I am in full gear to make films.
” Shahid’s publicist says, “He has met Shoojit but nothing is confirmed yet.”

Shahid Kapoor is digging for something he hasn't done before

Rumour has it that after working with his father Pankaj Kapoor on 'Mausam', where he plays an Air Force pilot, Shasha found himself challenged as an actor and that's when he decided that enough of the boy next door roles. Deepika Padukone signed opposite Shahid Kapoor for Heer And Ranjha
Deepika Padukone signed opposite Shahid Kapoor for Heer And Ranjha
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Sabbir explained, "Once I finished scripting, I felt that the Heer's part needed somebody who is young and dynamic, as it's totally an author backed role. At the same time, that person should have vulnerability as well as emotional depth. With so much in mind, I just couldn't see anybody beyond Deepika for the role, as I feel that she is one of the finest female actors amongst the Gen-Next's brigade."
Sabbir also added, "Casting this pair together was due to the fact that, this was one pair which was everybody's unanimous decision. To have as Deepika as Heer and Shahid as Ranjha, the film is nothing short of being fantastic. Everybody is excited to see the pair together!"
Since it's a romantic story being retold, music will play prominence in the film. Talking about the music of Heer And Ranjha, Sabbir reveals, "Music is indeed a very integral part of this film. And I am so very happy to have Pritam on board for it. There are 6 songs in the film. The core of the music will be romance... music that will depict that it's a love story, at the same time it'll be contemporary. The music of this film will surely have lots of soul with a lot of modernity."
The shooting of Heer And Ranjha will begin in April 2011.

Ranbir Shahid Kapoor heading for face off over visit to Pak
The director arrives in Mumbai next week to decide on the hero, depending on whom she can convince to shoot in Pakistan. Past cast hiccups Says a source, "Mira is no stranger to casting hiccups. For The Namesake, her first choices for the lead were Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee. But Rani didn't want to play Abhishek's mother. The roles finally went to Tabu and Kal Penn." Historical grudge Mira's first choice for the lead role in The Reluctant Fundamentalist was Ranbir Kapoor. Says the source, "RK was interested but the minute Pakistan was mentioned, his parents recoiled. Rishi still remembers how hard his father, the late Raj Kapoor, tried to get permission to shoot in Pakistan for his Indo-Pak love story Henna but never got it in his lifetime. His son Randhir later directed the film but even he couldn't shoot on location and had to make do simply with an actress belonging to that country." I'm available Continues the source, "Shahid is busy with his father's Mausam but is keen to meet Mira and work out the details. Going to Pakistan is not such a problem for him. Even though his parents would object, he can convince them." The twist comes with Ranbir showing a renewed interest in the Mira Nair flick, in keeping with his policy of avoiding run-of-the-mill themes and stories. The director confirms from New York that she's flying down to meet the two, "I am in discussions with both Ranbir and Shahid. But all decisions can be taken only when I meet them in person next week."Ranbir-Shahid heading for face-off over visit to Pak

Shahid Kapoor new look of mausam revealed!
Here’s an exclusive picture of the actor’s avatar in his father’s directorial debut, Mausam Finally, the cat is out of the bag. Though both Pankaj and Shahid Kapoor tried exceptionally hard to curtail any information about Mausam from being leaked out, Mumbai Mirror caught more than a whiff of it. We present to you a sneak peek of Shahid’s look in the film.
Sasha has been spending most of his time indoors to keep his look in the film a secret. But last weekend, he was shooting at a suburban hospital, where we managed to click pictures of his rather dapper, short-haired army officer look.
Incidentally, some time ago, when Shahid stepped out of his house with his head covered for a special screening of Anjaana Anjaani, his father apparently got really upset with him because his son failed to escape the paparazzi. He warned Shahid not to reveal his look to anyone. As a result, daddy’s boy was grounded and has been indoors ever since.
An onlooker on the sets said, "Shahid was pretty comfortable in the company of others. His moustache makes him look even younger."
Come to think of it, is there anything that could make Sasha look older?

Shahid Kapoor may shoot in Pakistan for Mira Nair film
Shahid Kapoor may shoot in Pakistan for Mira Nair film Islamabad, Oct 22 (IANS) In exciting news for his Pakistani fans, Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor could be shooting in Pakistan for a Mira Nair film, Aaj TV channel reported Friday. According to the Pakistani channel, noted Indian film director Mira Nair is planning to make a movie based on Pakistani writer Mohsin Hamid's second novel "The Reluctant Fundamentalist".
By Awais Saleem
The yet-to-be-named film is expected to be shot in Pakistan. But it is not yet clear whether the necessary permissions have been sought for this purpose. The interior ministry and foreign ministry on both sides of the border have to be involved if any such project has to go ahead , the TV channel said quoting unnamed sources.
Shahid Kapoor, the channel reported, has not signed the contract yet but has shown interest in reading the script and is also excited about working with US-based Mira Nair, who has won critical acclaim for her off-beat films. Her "Salaam Bombay" in 1988 was shortlisted for the Academy Award in the category of best foreign film.
Mohsin, a Harvard-educated law graduate, is based in London and has won acclaim for his incisive and engaging writings. He shot to fame with his first novel "Moth Smoke" in 2000. "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" was published in 2007 and soon become an instant best-seller.
Earlier, Mahesh Bhatt had also planned to shoot his film "Mandi" while Shah Rukh-starrer "Veer Zara" was also supposed to be shot partly in Pakistan but the plans had to be shelved because of administrative hassles.
The story of "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" revolves around a Pakistani man who lets go of his life of fame in America after a failed love affair and the 9/11 terror attack. The novel was translated in more than 25 languages, won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and was also shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
With a dying Pakistani film industry that produces hardly a handful of movies in Urdu, Punjabi and Pushto languages each year, Indian movies are a rage in Pakistan.
The release of Indian movies allowed in Pakistan a couple of years ago after a break of more than 40 years has also helped to bring the general public back to cinema houses.

Bollywood filmmakers have rarely shot their films in Pakistan
Bollywood filmmakers have rarely shot their films in Pakistan. Years ago, Randhir Kapoor-directed Raj Kapoor's dream project Heena, starring Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar, was shot in Pakistan. A substantial portion of Mukesh Bhatt's Awarapan was also shot there. Reportedly a Mira Nairfilm based on Mohsin Hamid's second novel, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, will be shot in Pakistan. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is set in an outdoor Lahore cafe and the protagonist is a bearded Pakistani man called Changez. After making a film on legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, Mira Nair is planning her next. And this time, her protagonist will be a Pakistani man who lets go of his life of fame in America after a failed love affair and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And the filmmaker has already chosen the one who will play the protagonist and guess who it is, Shahid Kapoor. According to sources, the actor has not yet signed the contract but showed interest in reading the script and also is excited to work with Mira.Rest of the star cast will be finalised soon. But, we hear that the meticulous Mira is looking into all the minute details of the film, now. She will take a few more months before she starts the shooting of the film.

Priyanka Chopra wants Shahid company
Priyanka Chopra wants Shahid's company
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been trying her best to accompany Shahid Kapoor on World tour.
However, Shahid kapoor has reportedly been ingnoring her to avoid any media glare, linking both of them.
Priyanka Chopra now wants Shahid to accompany her in the World tour with Ranbir, Katrina and others.
After alleged break up with piggy chops, Shahid even didn't want to talk about her before the camera. Recently, Shahid left the set of Koffe with Karan when he was asked about Priyanka.
In such circumstances, it seems difficult for Shahid to include Priyanka on his world tour beacuse he just trying to keep media, known as rumour mills, away from his life.
That’s precisely what happened earlier when he spotted with her ex-girlfriend Kareena and became a news for media. So Shahid is not showing interest in going to the tour and concentrating to his upcoming assignments for the movies.

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor Temptation rejected
Shahid Kapoor, the chocolaty heart throb has been lying low in his den for the past few months. With only ‘Mausam’ (a film by dad Pankaj Kapur) on his hands, Shahid has been keeping a low profile but come 2011 and he would be plunging deep into the waters of celluloid yet again. Kareena Kapoor’s ex and Priyanka Chopra’s supposed present is all set to commence shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s new film that he has signed. Besides, he is also reading a couple of scripts and plans to finalise deals with other Producers. In short, he is now ready to roar out and leave his den to come out in the open jungle. He is keen on restarting work with double the enthusiasm and diligence. It means that he is not quite tempted by Priyanka’s Temptation tour plan. Ranbir Kapoor’s world tour concert shall take place on summer 2011 and Priyanka is already a part of it. She has been trying to rope in Shahid as well so that the two can spend some quality time together. However, with Shahid focussing on his filmy career, the temptation surely has been rejected.Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor: Temptation rejected

Katrina Kaif to play Shahid Kapoor Heer in Heer Ranjha
First there were rumours that she had replaced Deepika as Ranbir’s girlfriend. Now, it seems that Katrina has replaced Deepika in a movie too. Recently, there was a buzz created when Deepika Padukone was rumoured to star opposite Shahid Kapur in Sabir Khan’s Heer Ranjha. She was keen to do the film and had given the go-ahead. However, reports suggest that Deepika has been unceremoniously dropped and Katrina has replaced her. Our source informs, “Deepika is still to recover from the shock as she didn’t even know she was out of the film. She had said yes to Sajid and was all set to sign the film when she learnt that Katrina has already been finalised. Now Katrina, who has only some YRF films currently, wanted to be a part of the film and called Sajid who is her rakhi brother and said that she was keen to star in the film. Sajid just could not refuse and the swap was finalised overnight.” Looks like Katrina is taking Deepika’s place in more than one sphere of Bollywood.Katrina to play Shahid's Heer in Heer Ranjha

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in Ishq Vishk 2
The latest news doing the rounds is that producer Ramesh Taurani is planning to make a sequel to ISHQ VISHK. Rumours are rife that Ratna Sinha will direct the film, which is expected to star Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. However, Ramesh Taurani denies the development completely, "It's untrue. We don't have a story for a sequel, so how can we announce the film in the first place?" But he confirms that Ratna Sinha did narrate a subject to him. "But it was for an altogether different film. Beyond that we haven't had any discussions," Taurani adds.
Meanwhile, Taurani is gearing up to start RACE 2, directed by Abbas-Mustan. This film is likely to take off early next year.
