Katrina to play Shahid's Heer in Heer Ranjha

First there were rumours that she had replaced Deepika as Ranbir’s girlfriend. Now, it seems that Katrina has replaced Deepika in a movie too.

Recently, there was a buzz created when Deepika Padukone was rumoured to star opposite Shahid Kapur in Sabir Khan’s Heer Ranjha. She was keen to do the film and had given the go-ahead.

However, reports suggest that Deepika has been unceremoniously dropped and Katrina has replaced her. Our source informs, “Deepika is still to recover from the shock as she didn’t even know she was out of the film. She had said yes to Sajid and was all set to sign the film when she learnt that Katrina has already been finalised. Now Katrina, who has only some YRF films currently, wanted to be a part of the film and called Sajid who is her rakhi brother and said that she was keen to star in the film. Sajid just could not refuse and the swap was finalised overnight.” Looks like Katrina is taking Deepika’s place in more than one sphere of Bollywood.

The trend of making sequels has caught on in a big way. In fact, the moment a film hits the bull's eye, most producers immediately jump at the idea of making a sequel to the film. The announcement of a sequel creates tremendous excitement within and outside the film industry and gradually, the film becomes a brand.

The latest news doing the rounds is that producer Ramesh Taurani is planning to make a sequel to ISHQ VISHK. Rumours are rife that Ratna Sinha will direct the film, which is expected to star Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. However, Ramesh Taurani denies the development completely, "It's untrue. We don't have a story for a sequel, so how can we announce the film in the first place?" But he confirms that Ratna Sinha did narrate a subject to him. "But it was for an altogether different film. Beyond that we haven't had any discussions," Taurani adds.

Meanwhile, Taurani is gearing up to start RACE 2, directed by Abbas-Mustan. This film is likely to take off early next year.

directorial debut film Mausam when its second schedule starts on September 7.

August 20, 2010, (Sawf News) - Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor will resume filming for Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut film Mausam when its second schedule starts on September 7.

" Morning all ... So next sched for mausam starts 7th sept I am told.. ," Shahid Tweeted on August 20, 2010.

The 65-day-long first schedule of the film was shot in Edinburgh, Scotland, ending on July 27. The film is currently 30% completed.

The break in filming allowed Sonam to promote her home production Aisha, which released on August 6, and then wind up filming for Thank You with co-stars Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol in Toronto.

Shahid has used the break to chill out with his family in Mumbai, film endorsements, and read scripts for his next projects.

Sonam, who has had a busy year with two releases, I Hate Love Stories and Aisha, is planning to holiday in New York with sister Rhea Kapoor, before returning to Mausam set.

Pankaj Kapoor is reported to have stopped her from taking on new projects till filming for Mausam is complete.

Shahid has often mentioned that he has dedicated year 2010 to his dad's directorial debut. It's endearing to see the loyalty and professionalism of the father and son team.
